Organist and Choir Master

Eric Beven FRCO (CHM), ARCM, LTCL

Who was appointed in 1984. He studied piano, organ with Richard Standen and counterpoint harmony, etc with John Brydson and Benjamin Burrows.

He is a member of the Incorporated Society of Musicians. He teaches organ, singing, piano and theoretical subjects and has composed numerous works, many for church choirs. He is chairman of the Coulsdon and Purley Festival Choir

The Organ

The organ was built by Hunter and Sons, then based in Clapham and is of two manuals and pedals. The craftsmanship is very fine, an overhaul was carried out in 2009. This will preserve the instrument for many years to come.
